An alter ego can be a refuge; an escape from the monotonous expectation of consistency. In the creative field of music, pseudonyms, or fictitious names, allow the artist to expand to new horizons, exploring new ideas without being tied down by previous (or future) work. Like a train, pseudonyms ransport the artist to greater musical freedom.
